Yurie Matsuura stammt aus Tokio. 2002 war sie Finalistin beim Prix de Lausanne und ging noch im selben Jahr an die Königliche Ballettschule Antwerpen, wo sie 2003 ihren Abschluss machte. Danach wurde ins Ensemble des Königlichen Balletts Flandern aufgenommen, wo sie 2009 zur Ersten Solistin aufstieg. 2013-2014 war Yurie ständiger Gast am Anhaltischen Theater Dessau. Dort tanzte sie eine Hauptrolle in der Produktion „Cinderella“. Parallel dazu gastierte sie am Theater Plauen-Zwickau in „Romeo und Julia“. 2015 wurde sie Mitglied im Ballett Augsburg und ist seit 2016 nun als Solotänzerin mit Gruppe im Ensemble des Aalto Ballett Essen. Ihr Repertoire umfasst Rollen in „Schwanensee“, „Dornröschen“, „Onegin“, „Der Nussknacker“, „La bayadère“, „Theme and Variation“, „Divertimento“, „Tarantella“, „Serenade“, „Romeo und Julia“, „Cinderella“, „Artifact“, „Impressing the Czar“, „In the Middle somewhat elevated“, „Herman Schmerman“, „After the rain“, „The 3rd Light“, „27"52"“ u. v. m. Unter anderem tanzte sie Choreografien von George Balanchine,William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Marcia Haydée, Christian Spuck, David Dawson, Jorma Elo, Christopher Wheeldon, Alexander Ekman und Ricardo Amarante. In Essen war sie bereits als Micaela („Carmen/Boléro“) und sowohl als Freundin als auch als Kitri in „Don Quichotte“ zu sehen. In der Produktion "Schwanensee" tanzte sie im "Polnischen Tanz", "Kleine Schwäne" sowie im "Pas de trois". In der Spielzeit 2018/2019 war sie in Essen in der Titelpartie von „Cinderella“ sowie als Tatjana in John Crankos „Onegin“ zu erleben.
