Ana Maria Lucaciu ist eine freischaffende Choreografin und darstellende Künstlerin, die in New York und Antwerpen lebt. Geboren in Bukarest, Rumänien, machte sie ihren Abschluss an der National Ballet School of Canada und wurde unmittelbar danach Mitglied des kanadischen Nationalballetts. Anschließend tanzte sie beim Königlichen Dänischen Ballett, beim Ballett Augsburg, bei der Portuguese Contemporary Dance Company und beim Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in New York. Lucaciu tanzte und kreierte Werke mit den führenden Choreograf*innen des zeitgenössischen Tanzes, darunter Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jiří Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Jo Stromgren und Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Ihre eigenen choreografischen Arbeiten wurden u. a. vom Norwegian National Ballet, New Dialect, Dance Aspen, Terminus Modern Ballet Theater, Battery Dance NYC, Philadelphia Ballet und Whim W'him Seattle Contemporary Dance aufgeführt. Sie assistierte Crystal Pite bei dem Polaris-Projekt in New York City, zudem assistiert sie dem schwedischen Choreografen Alexander Ekman bei neuen Kreationen und verantwortet deren Einstudierung bei Ballettcompanien weltweit. Ana Maria arbeitete als rehearsal director für die London’s Rambert 2 company sowie 2022 für die Tournee von Alan Lucien Øyens Winter Guests als rehearsal director/Darstellerin. Derzeit ist sie Head Rehearsal Director beim Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. Ana Maria hat einen BFA in Tanz vom Empire State College und unterrichtet Ballett, zeitgenössischen Tanz und gibt Improvisationsworkshops in den USA, Europa sowie Asien. Sie war 2018 Sprecherin bei TedX Bucharest.

She went on to dance with the Royal Danish Ballet, Augsburg Ballet, The Portuguese Contemporary Dance Company and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in New York.
Lucaciu has performed and created works with contemporary dance's foremost choreographers, including Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter, Jiří Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Jo Stromgren, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and many others.
Ana Maria’s own choreographic work has been presented by the Norwegian National Ballet, New Dialect, Dance Aspen, Terminus Modern Ballet Theater, Battery Dance NYC, Philadelphia Ballet , Whim W’him Seattle Contemporary Dance to name a few.
